Ethyl Thioglycolate

Overview

Ethyl Thioglycolate is obtained by esterification of thioglycolic acid and ethanol in the presence of sulfuric acid. Thioglycolic acid, ethanol and sulfuric acid are heated and refluxed for 24 hours, the ester layer is separated, washed with saturated salt water four times, and then dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate for 24 hours. The finished product is obtained by atmospheric fractionation and collecting the fraction at 155-158 ℃.

Ethyl Thioglycolate is mainly used as plasticizer and polysilane lubricant additive. It has the conditions to be used as a collector for beneficiation. It has strong collection capacity for zinc and can be used as a collector for mineral flotation. Store in a sealed container in a cool, dry place. The storage area must be locked and the keys must be kept by technical experts and their assistants.
